You must enter an IP address ( 0.0.0.0 through  999.999.999.999 ) or a URL or a Host name e.g MyPC (case sensitive). This is the IP/Host address of the remote computer you wish to connect to.

In order for Wake up On Lan (WOL) to work you need to enter the MAC address for the network card of the PC/Mac running the VNC server.

The MAC address consists of six 2-digit hexadecimal numbers, it looks something like this on a Windows system:

00-12-A7-5E-27-BC

Or like this on a Mac:

00:12:a7:5e:27:bc

You only need type the digits, the - or : are filled in automatically.

In some cases for WOL to work a password is required in addition to the MAC address. This password consists of six 2-digit hexadecimal numbers in exactly the same format as the MAC address. If your WOL requires a password then simply tap in the numbers for the password after tapping in the MAC address, like this:

00-12-A7-5E-27-BC:12-34-56-78-9A-BC

or

00:12:a7:5e:27:bc-12:34:56:78:9a:bc

For more information on using WOL see the FAQ.

7. (UDP) port for “Wake up On Lan” (optional)

The UDP port to use for the WOL message.

Leaving this blank will use the port you have set for VNC use as the port for the WOL message, for WiFi use this is normally fine.

In some cases (e.g. when wanting WOL to work via the internet) you may need to specify a separate port for the UDP WOL message.

In any case the routing must be set up to route UDP access on the WOL port used to the PC/Mac running the VNC server for WOL to function. Please see the FAQ for more details.
