Bespoke

Running your virtual world on your Pocket PC or Smartphone

What do I need?

Well if you want to run Second Life or any other Virtual world like There etc ,then you need to have a mobile / cell phone / pocket PC.

Any Smartphone or Pocket PC Running Windows Mobile 5 or above will be what you need ( we are using a HTC S710/ Orange E650 as our prefered device but JasJar or HTC Mogul will work just as well.) . A version that will work on Nokia S60 devices is in development and will be available soon.

A copy of PT Pocket Office ( v1.7)

So now you have the Smartphone / Pocket PC device we are nearly ready to go. I have assumed here that you have an Internet connection. You will need to know your IP address if you are connecting over the internet ( go to:- www.whatismyip.com ) or your computers local IP address or computer name if connecting over WiFi or Bluetooth.

First read the installation instructions / watch the help video.

Install (v1.7).

You need your computer turned on and running PTeSVNC ( Part of PT Pocket Office ) and your phone needs to have a GPRS or WiFi / Bluetooth connection, and a copy of PT Pocket Office installed.

Run PT Pocket Office on your Smartphone / Pocket PC device. Enter the IP address and password, Once the connection has established you then have control of your computer. Run Second Life on you computer and there you go.
